Second Graders are focusing on Coding in the STEAM Lab, specifically using the Lego Robotics Kits. They will incorporate other coding programs as well, along with additional STEAM activities.
All classes discussed why it is important to be safe online and some ways that they can be prepared in case a situation arises. The games below serve as reminders of how to make sure we are being safe online.
Students learn about the basics of coding and use various activities to help them improve their coding skills. Second graders work with our Lego Robotics Kits to help them with their engineering and coding skills. They also participated in an Hour of Code activity during Computer Science Education Week.
Students spent time learning about the different states of matter: solid, liquid, gas, and plasma. They were able to play various games to learn more about matter and the differences between the states of matter.
Students will learn that smaller objects (like legos) can be assembled to make larger objects. Those objects can then be broken down and the pieces can be used to make new objects. The link below is a game related to this concept.
After learning about tangrams, students were given the task of creating their own tangram. Once they made their creation, they typed out a story about their tangram creation. Once they finished, they were able to explore more about smaller shapes making up larger objects using the links below.
